2009 FILIPINO ESSAY-WRITING CONTEST PARTICIPANTS
2009's Filipno Essay Competition was participated in by a leaner and meaner contingent of selected young writers.
18 MHPHS essayists braved the rain and storm to show their writing prowess at the Filipino Reading Center.
TGRF's contingent was also leaner this year. In pictures is Loni Ramos giving the usual contest mechanics and the essay topic for 2009.
This year's topic is, "Ano ang mga katangian na dapat mayroon and magiging Pangulo ng Pilipinas upang maiahon ang bansa sa kasalukuyang kalagayang kinasasadlakan?"
Brain gears churning out the words. The pen is working furiously and the silence is deafening.
Different writing styles...different writing positions but the results are all same... an essay worthy of praise.
Post-competion smiles. Someday you will read their piece in the newspapers of magazines.

Winner of the 2009 Essay contest is Mariah Amour C. Miranda with her piece Liwanag sa DIlim.
Because of the typhoons that hit the country in 2009, the awards rites were postponed several times. TGRF Director Arnel Mediran presided the simple rites to the cash prize, trophy and certificates to the winners and participants of the essay contest last February 2010.
